Donald Trump backs our view that third-party endorsements from the media are worth much, much more than fancy, expensive marketing materials.

In a recent interview about his real estate business in The New York Daily News, Trump said, “Sometimes people will walk out of my sales offices with four Xeroxed copies of articles about the success of the building. That costs about a penny per copy. That’s more effective than spending $1,000 on materials.”

Trump attributed “incredible reviews,” not “fancy brochures” to growing his real estate brand. “You can not beat a good review,” he noted. “When I walk into an office and I get hit with a $500 brochure with leather covers and all these bells and whistles, I say to myself…’why do they have to spend all of this money on things that really have nothing to do with where the person is going to live?’”

Hey, we could use this guy in the PR business!
